Mid-Atlantic Grain Stand & Share
The Mid-Atlantic Grain Stand & Share aggregates local grain products from Common Grain Alliance members and sells them at four weekly FRESHFARM markets, and a csa-style Grain Share program. Find Us at the Dupont, Silver Spring, Mosaic, and Arlington Farmers Markets.
This is a joint project of Common Grain Alliance and FRESHFARM, funded by a USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) Grant awarded in 2021. By aggregating and selling the products of dozens of regional businesses through the Grain Stands and Grain Share, producers of all sizes have the opportunity to access retail opportunities at farmers markets without spending time and money to be there in person. This model mitigates financial risk for small scale grain producers, fosters collaboration among businesses in the local grainshed, and builds capacity that can be scaled and replicated across markets in the Mid-Atlantic and nationally.
These programs introduce the farmers market community to local and nutritious grains, driving demand for these products, creating convenient options for accessing them and, by extension, supporting the regional grain economy.

Grain Stand: At select FRESHFARM farmers markets, a variety of grains & pantry staples from Common Grain Alliance members are offered alongside recipes and educational resources. Visit the Stand and chat with our Grain Specialists, who can point you to a new kind of flour, bean, pasta or other local grain ingredient to try out at home.
Grain Share: A weekly curated selection of grains, pasta, grits, rice, and much more that can be picked up at select markets or delivered to your door. As part of FRESHFARM’s Market Share offered through the Pop Up Food Hub program, customers can sign up to receive one Mid-Atlantic grain product each week, along with information about the producer and recipes to make the local grain flavors shine. Participation is open to all, including the option to pay with SNAP/EBT at a reduced rate.
