Deep Roots Milling

Deep Roots Milling operates out of Woodson’s Mill which was built in the 1790s and has been continuously operational ever since. The 48 inch mill stones currently in use were installed in the 1840s and are turned by the running water of the Piney River. Millers Charlie Wade, who is a 6th generation miller, Aaron Grigsby, and Ian Gamble are all passionate about their craft and advocating for local food and agriculture and a connection to the land.
